Ballots On Their Way This Week

The voters' pamphlets have been mailed out to Lincoln County voters and ballots will begin being mailed tomorrow for the May 20th special election. There are three measures on the ballot. Measure 21-232 is from the Lincoln County School District asking for continued support of a bond at its existing rate. The measure is not expected to increase property taxes. If passed the funding will go to increase school safety, repair aging schools and expand vocational training.
Measure 21-233 is from Central Coast Fire and Rescue District in Waldport asking for an operational levy for five years. The funding would be used for maintaining response capability for increasing needs, maintaining equipment and to create reserve funding for capital projects. The third measure is 21-234 for East Lincoln County fire and rescue district. They are seeking a five year levy for equipment and disaster preparedness. Both fire department measures would increase property taxes by more than 3%.
The ballot will also include those running for various boards throughout the county, including the Lincoln County School District in zones 1,3,4 and 5. Also on the ballot will be those running for Oregon Coast Community College Board of Directors and more. The voter's pamphlet and more information can be found online under the Lincoln County website under county clerk. Today, April 29, 2025, is the deadline to register to vote to receive a ballot for Oregon’s May 2025 Special Election. You can register to vote online at OregonVotes.gov/register. Oregonians may also choose to register by completing a voter registration form and returning it to a county elections office. In Oregon, you must be a U.S. citizen, a permanent resident of the state, and at least 16 years old to register to vote. Oregonians must be 18 years old by Election Day to cast a ballot.
