In the May 19th election primary, results were counted for the second time on Wednesday May 20th and announced at 5pm with statewide results showing on Thursday May 21st at 7am. In Lincoln County right now the voter turnout was 44% and the statewide turnount was 34%. Here are the most recent results, for the race for Governor it looks like it will be Republican Christine Drazen who currently has 41% of the vote who is going against Tina Kotek, who has over 84%.
For US Representative 4th district it appears Val Hoyle is in the lead for democrats with 76% and Monique DeSpain is ahead for the republicans with 87% of the vote. For the US Senate race, Jeff Merkley is ahead for the democrats with 93% of the vote and for republican race Brock Smith is slightly ahead of Jo Rae Perkins with over 29% to Perkins 27%. All local measures appear to have passed at this time. The state gas tax measure that would increase fuel taxes, registration/title fees for roads, tax on wages for public transportation services did not pass.
In Lincoln County Commission races, for position 1 Cathie Rigby currently has 31% of the votes and incumbent Casey Miller remains in second of the six running with 24%. For position 2, which will fill former Commissioner Hall’s position Cristen Don currently has the most votes with 44% and Joe D Steere has 22%. For position 3 Curtis Landers is leading with 51% and Walter Chuck has 49%.
A candidate needs to receive over 50% of the vote to win; otherwise, the two with the most votes will run in November. Winning candidates will be sworn in in January of 2027 to begin their terms. 97% of the votes have currenlty been counted. The next update from the county clerk's office will be May 22nd at 5pm. The official and final report will be on June 12.
