Fourth Suspect Arrested For Bayfront Robbery

On Monday August 18th the Newport Police Department continued to investigate the details surrounding an Armed Robbery that had occurred at a parking lot on the Newport bayfront on Friday, August 15th. As a result of the continued investigation, officers identified the fourth suspect as 18-year old Uziel Fuentes Hernandez, of Lincoln City, Oregon however he had not been taken into custody yet.


Officers heard from witnesses in the case that Fuentes Hernandez had begun threatening to cause harm to witnesses in the Robbery case if they did not retract their statements to police. Witnesses were scared for their personal safety and the safety of their families.

Newport officers, with the assistance of the Lincoln City Police, were able to locate Fuentes Hernandez working at a business in Lincoln City. Officers contacted Fuentes Hernandez when he exited the business and, after a short foot pursuit, he was taken into custody without incident and was transported to the Lincoln County Jail where he was lodged for

* Coercion

* Unlawful Use of Weapon

* Theft 1st Degree

* Tampering With A Witness

* Menacing

* Escape 3rd Degree
