May Primary Election Coming Up

The May primary election is tomorrow. 25 people are running for the Governor’s race. 15 are Republican and 10 are Democrat. There are 5 running for US Representative, 4th district. 9 are running for the US Senate race. For the first time in Lincoln County history all three county commission positions are up for election. We will have election information posted as soon as it is released around 8pm on May 19th.


Measures on the local ballot include Measure 120, which if passed would increase fuel taxes, registration/title fees for roads, tax on wages for public transportation services statewide. Measure 21-236 – Renewal of North Lincoln Fire & Rescue 5-year Operation Levy. Measure 21-237 – Renew 5-year firefighter levy with a .12 cent increase for Seal Rock Fire. Measure 21-238 – Amends the Charter for the City of Toledo Government. Measure 21-239 – Renewal of 5-year Local Option Tax Levy for Yachats Rural Fire Protection District. Measure 21-240 – Makai Road District Five-Year Local Option Levy.


It is recommended to drop your ballot off at a local ballot drop off in Newport/Lincoln City/Toledo/Waldport/Depoe Bay/Siletz/Yachats.
