ODOT Pedestrian Improvement Project On Highway 101 In Newport

ODOT is making improvements on Highway 101 to make the area safer for pedestrians by installing new signs and painting crosswalk markings at nine locations including
NW 15th Street.
NE 10th Street.
NW 3rd Street.
W Olive Street.
SW Angle Street.
SW Lee Street.
SW Alder Street.
SW Abbey Street.
SW Bayley Street.
Crews will be working during the day and drivers should expect some shoulder and lane closures with flaggers directing traffic as needed. Drivers should expect delays while this work is being done, so leave extra time if you are traveling highway 101.
Drivers should use caution, watch for workers and follow posted signs. This work is funded through ODOT's vulnerable user crash response program. The term "vulnerable road user" describes a person who isn't protected by an outside shield, like in a car or truck, when they're traveling. This includes people walking, biking or rolling.
