Two vehicle fatal crash on Hwy 101

On Sunday, June 2, 2019 at approximately 3:52 P.M. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the report of a two vehicle crash on Hwy 101 near milepost 134. 

Preliminary investigation reveals that a red Chrysler Sebring, operated by Jackie Dean (53) of Depoe Bay, was northbound when it hit the highway guardrail, crossed the centerline, and struck a southbound gray Chevrolet Silverado, operated by Pedro Segura (42) of Salem. 

Dean sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Segura and his four passengers (two adults / two juveniles) were transported to area hospitals with injuries.

OSP was assisted by ODOT, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Lincoln County DA's Office, Lincoln County Medical Examiner, and Newport Fire Department.
